Yesterday I tried to be supermom. I woke up grumpy and knew if I didn’t keep the kids busy I would end up snapping all day. It worked, but man alive I fell into bed exhausted!!
Here are a few pics of just some of our adventures and activities yesterday…
Yup, she’s one of those creative types. At least she can colour-coordinate, right?
Sorry for the big fence in the way, but I took the pic from my kitchen window. I eventually joined them (after the dishes were done) and spent a million years pushing Juno on the swing. So fun to see them starting to enjoy each other’s company. 3 months ago I never thought that would happen!
Grilled pineapple for snack!
Thans Dayna for the tasty idea of sprinkling cinnamon and sugar on top! (although I couldn’t get my kids to try it, what’s with that?! Justus loves pineapple, but won’t try it with sugar on top? The kid wants sugar on everything! Then again, why am I trying to force him to put sugar on his fruit….? lol)
My Grandma dropped off a bag of old toys (from my Dad’s childhood… I am SO sentimental about things like that!) The kids had a blast playing with them, we used trays full of snow to build forts for the guys. I didn’t bother taking a picture of Juno, she was just eating the snow.
I bought this amazing book on saturday! LOVE it!
(anyone have advice for dealing with a little boy who gets incredibly frustrated and discouraged when he isn’t able to do things perfectly? His drawings apparently look different in his mind than on paper and he gets seriously stressed. Ideas for how to encourage him?)
We made a princess palace for Juno too, but she prefers painting. I rarely get the paints out because inevitably the paint ends up on much more than just the paper…
…and mommy wants to cry at clean up time.
That’s a painting of me. Can’t you tell?
“Yook mommy! I blow bubbles!”
With all that we still had time for school, more snacks, playing, winnie the pooh video, room time, puzzles, laundry, cleaning upstairs, supper prep, etc. Man alive some days just seem endless!!!
Anyone else feel like you can’t keep the kids busy enough right now? Come on Spring! We have major cabin fever over here!
