Family, Life

Long weekends are nice.

I feel like summer vacation mode is kicking in now that May 2-4 is upon us, with lots of sunshine, a rare May long weekend occurrence!

Saturday morning bliss…

I made an excellent purchase off Kijiji last weekend.  Someone was selling their large Rescue Heroes collection for 30.00.  Sold!  They are our new outside toys, and perfect for playing in the sandbox or water.  The kids have been having a blast in the backyard.

My baby brother graduated grade 8 on Saturday! I still clearly remember the day he was born… I was 14. And now he’s going to be in HIGH SCHOOL! I’m so proud of him! He’s gone from adorable, angel baby, to wild toddler, to sensitive, precocious child, to imaginative pre-teen, and now he’s clearly moving into an adolescence full of friends, fun, and even…girls (gasp!). Watching him walk onto the platform last night all handsome in his suit, it was hard not to reminisce about the little ADHD imp who used to trick his sunday school teachers into thinking he couldn’t read or write, or driving my poor mother crazy by purposefully getting each and every answer wrong. I remember he and my mother somedays spending hours over work he could accomplish in mere minutes when he was having a good day. I’m so proud of them both. He’s smart. She survived. 🙂 They did good. I love them.
Here he is with my parents and both sets of grandparents. What a legacy us Millar kids have!

And finally… proof that summer is officially here! The city splash pads are open! I have a feeling we will be living in the parks this summer.

Good grief – your mumma is stunning! ^_^ Also I miss those splash pads. I just replaced our third blow up pool because water is just essential for happy summer kidlets ^_^
