Rusty’s Day

Happy 4th Birthday Justus!
(Jon threatened to enter me as a Cake Wreck for this Darth Vader cake. But considering I can’t use food colouring and the cake has to be dairy free (and I have no time or skills), I thought he should cut me a little slack… the kids recognized him as Darth Vader, that’s enough for me!!) πŸ™‚

For Justus’s birthday today we went to Greenview Aviaries. It was WONDERFUL! Very good value for money, the kids had a blast and there was tons to do there. Worth the drive for sure! Now excuse me while I go picture happy… (grandparents, you know)
I tried to keep Juno from chasing the goats, but once or twice she slipped away from me…
No matter how “tweet” you think they are my dear, they do not want you to hug them.
You can rent these huge wagons for 2.00 for the day. Most of the paths are gravel, so strollers would be a pain and the kids needed a place to rest on and off as we walked around.
Rusty was actually a little nervous around the many animal statues in the park. Juno tried to feed them all.
Ok, Jen… close your eyes.
He only had a sip, I swear. πŸ˜‰
Juno turns anything and everything into people. These two fry forks had a lovely conversation.
Justus loved the trampoline the best!
Because there is nothing quite like the sheer joy of getting exactly what you were hoping for…
(how old does he look in this picture??!)
…and having the person you adore most in the world share in your joy…
And that, my friends, in 842 pictures, was Rusty’s big day.

    You’re too funny! πŸ™‚ I kept my eyes open, but I’ll pretend I didn’t see it! πŸ™‚
Glad you had a great time (and terrific weather to boot)! πŸ™‚ We have lots of the same photos (though yours, of course, are nicer!:))…the kids on the statues, feeding the goats & the deer…we somehow missed the goat barn though!?!?! I didn’t know it was there! They were outside in their pen. Hmmm. And you’re totally on with the stroller thing…VERY hard to push on the gravel!!! Next time we’ll do the wagon too!! πŸ™‚

BTW, is Juno sleeping in the background of that last photo? πŸ™‚ She looks a little ‘tuckered out’. πŸ™‚

I wish! Juno doesn’t fall asleep in random places!

That’s not a cake wreck. The cat licking the middle of the cake would be worse. I can tell what it is. Very cute.

    Aw, Happy Birthday Justus πŸ™‚

I didn’t get a chance to chat with you Sunday, but it was a day of firsts for me with the Sodeman kids. Juno recognized me and wanted me to pick her up in her class (heart melting) and Justus and I had a very cute conversation about his fishing experience with George!

    Love you xxx

as if you could have lily white skin, miss Africa! πŸ™‚ Or did your African skin fade fast? sigh. I miss you. I’m not ignoring your email btw, I just need a nice chunk of time to sit down and write a proper response! Really miss you.

I didn’t tan. Not one little bit. It was warm and everything – just didn’t get sun kissed. I miss you too. That really wasn’t an email – it was more like an office memo scribbled on a post it note. Poor excuse for a friend that I am! I need to sit down and write a longer one and tell you all about my trip!
