This week Jon and I got to sneak away just the two of us for a couple nights at one of our favourite Ontario inns, The Mercer Hall Inn. I forgot to take a picture of the front, but you can check out their website if interested. I think it’s our fourth time staying there, it’s kind of a fail-proof getaway for us.
Lovely place to stay. Nice room, nice cafe downstairs, complimentary breakfast in cafe included, dinner voucher for yummy restaurant across the street…
Best of all though is just being right on Ontario St. in Stratford. That town has the loveliest feel to it…
Our dream house
We walked for 4 hours yesterday; around the river, through the old neighbourhoods, up and down Ontario St to look through all the shops, into the chocolatiers for an afternoon treat… it was wonderful! We went out again this morning and walked back down to the river to enjoy a quiet rest under the trees. (Or at least I did, it kills poor Jon to just sit. He did very well though, and it was a gift to me for sure.)
If I ever learn to play chess I want to play here:
It was raining a tiny bit this morning, although the trees completely sheltered us. I can’t begin to explain how quiet and calm the morning was today.
Lovely, Lovely Stratford.
