chalk board wall

I’m very very very slowly going to be decorating the house and decided that Justus’s big white box of a room would be a good place to start. He loves to draw so I thought this would be a good opportunity for him to be creative on a larger scale. And it’s just fun. 🙂 So we painted one of his walls with chalk board paint.

This was the paint we used:
And I discovered this wonderful tape that has a paper barrier attached to it. It covered my whole trim and I did it up both sides of the wall. I don’t have any of the cream paint currently on the walls, and I was afraid of an oops… big black smear somewhere if I accidentally got to close with the roller!

Now here are a few before and afters…
This room still needs lots of love, and perhaps a less girly light fixture! lol Every room in our house currently has a different crystal chandelier…

Love it!!!! That’s exactly what I want to do in Daniel’s room…one whole wall of chalkboard paint! I also thought maybe even make a big calendar grid on the wall b/c he is so obsessed with calendars right now and he could change it up all the time. Nice job!!! 🙂

Thanks! It’s fun! A tad dusty when they have a big art session, but mostly that’s from Juno coloring her pictures in! 🙂

Beautiful! I’ve got a can of that stuff somewhere, my hope is that someday soon I’ll be able to paint a wall of the (soon to be finished basement) in chalkboard paint, and another wall with white-board paint 🙂 thought it might be great for homeschool brainstorming 🙂 They even have magnet paint!

Can’t wait to see your next design ideas 🙂

This wall is so much fun. I loved it when we were all sitting on the bed last week drawing pics. And then Juno coloured in her face and eyes like something from a horror movie….
