Having my kids home full time all the time is an amazing blessing. It can also get a bit monotonous and the seasons can blend into each other with little distinction. I’ve been motivated lately to make sure our summers stand out from the school year, that they are defined breaks, filled with a summer-y routine, lots of special outings, activities, and visits with friends. I want all of us to enter our first ever everyone’s-in-school year after having had a full, restful, TRUE break.
And so… the summer fun list for 2012.
Fair Havens
Learn to swim
Zoo
Fly Kites
Paint play house
Soccer
Nature Scavenger hunt
Camp out
Read
Beach
Pick Strawberries
Campfire with marshmallows
Banana splits
Star gazing
Matinee at the movies with popcorn
Fireworks on July 1
Ride the Port Stanley train
Learn to ride bikes
Play outdoor mini golf
Pick Blueberries
Wash the car
Glow stick games night
Press flowers
Clovermead
Tinfoil River
We might add more, and now I have to figure out a fun way to display this so we remember everything we want to do!

Sounds like a fun summer you have planned! Enjoy it all! 🙂
I have a few of the same things on my list. Though my list is more of a mental one, you’ve motivated me to put it in writing so I’m more apt to see it through!
Ooh I get to be there for Canada Day!!! Fireworks 😀
so fun!!!
Awesome list! What if you put up a “clothesline” somewhere prominent in the house with each to-do on a piece of paper. Then when you get it done you replace the paper with a photo. At the end of the summer you’ve got a summer 2012 book!
Ok, that idea is THE best. I’m totally doing that!!! I think JYSK sells those wire lines with little clips on them. Been meaning to get one for artwork for a long time, but this makes for the perfect summer usage. Seriously, I love this idea Emily, thanks!!!
